UpShift is your local hub (Right now, Sacramento; next up, the WORLD) for all things girls and bicycles!
Workshops, education, meet-ups, gear-head geekery, racing information (if that’s your (saddle)bag), touring, bike camp-outs, bar-hopping, moonlight rides, commuting, and community!
UpShift Cycling is a community group founded by two rad female cyclists, Alexandra F. Williams & Angie Brandt, in Sacramento, California, who are passionate about getting more babes on bikes, and claiming our space on the road! We believe that this begins with teaching female-identified cyclists and wannabes how to talk about bicycles: bicycle anatomy, then performing basic bike maintenance (preventative & incidental) with accessible tools. Alexandra sold her car in 2006, Angie in 2004, commuting & navigating the globe solely via bicycle and public transportation. With a combined 18 years of a car-free lifestyle, we have a lot of bicycle-based knowledge and experience, and are eager to share! We look forward to joining you on your journey to a more bicycle-oriented way of exploring!
