We tried out a variety of new skills and visited a bunch of places in our little women-only safe-practices-only bike gang...
Landmarks & highlights include: 21st Street, someone's front wheel quick-release getting a little TOO quickly released, Camp Pollock, great weather, the American River Parkway bike trail, jackrabbits, Discovery Park, a glimpse of the confluence, wild turkeys, Old Sac, the Downtown Plaza K Street tunnel, nearly bumping into oblivious tourists, the Capital, N Street, car traffic yielding and giving us tons of room on the road, and Addison's Bicycle Reparium!
Big thanks to Addison for letting us get cozy on his divan and claiming the whole cushioned area of his shop for a while. :) Special thanks to Kirsten for fueling us properly for our (kinda long) ride with especially delicious sugary gluten-y salty chocolatey treats! I could use one of those snacks RIGHT NOW. :D Thank you also, Kim & Nicole & Kirsten, for your enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to put yourselves on your bicycles, for trusting yourselves with your newly-acquired Bicycle Safety Skills, and for trusting us to guide you on this journey to more freedom via two wheels! Yall are so wonderful, and I'm feeling so grateful to have experienced UpShift's Safety 101 Pilot Workshop with the three of you!
LOVEloveLoVe!
